1. One policy, two services
way.space is operated by Lineage Labs, an unincorporated project team based in Denmark, which acts as the data controller under the GDPR. The WayID Privacy Policy is the master document — it covers who we are, your GDPR rights, international transfers, retention, deletion, and how to complain to Datatilsynet. This page adds only what way.space itself does. Contact for everything: hello@lineage.fyi.
2. What way.space processes
- Account data — email, name, avatar URL, and provider user ID from your Google or GitHub sign-in (Supabase Auth). way.space runs its own EU-hosted Supabase database, separate from way.je's.
- Profile data — your username, display name, bio, and avatar, mirrored from your WayID identity (see section 3).
- Forum and rating data — posts, forum votes, and recommend votes, stored with your account and with the credibility grade you held at the time, which may be displayed alongside them.
- Catalogue contributions — tool proposals, submissions, and claims (claiming checks your repository access via GitHub).
- Technical data — IP addresses and request logs processed by Cloudflare and Supabase to serve and secure the site. We run no analytics of our own.
3. Data exchanged with WayID
way.space and WayID (way.je) share one identity layer. When you sign in here, way.space creates or links a WayID account using your verified email, passing your username, display name, avatar, and — for GitHub sign-ins — your GitHub username. Profile edits made here write through to WayID; your verification badges and GitHub-derived stats are read back from it for display. Both services are run by the same team under the same controller, so this exchange stays in-house.
4. GitHub data — including about non-members
Tool scores, builder stats, and grades are derived from public GitHub data (repository metadata, stars, contributor activity). Maintainers who have not joined way.space are never given profiles here — they appear only as links to their public GitHub pages. We process this public data under our legitimate interest in describing publicly available software and the people who publish it. If you want data about you reviewed or removed, email hello@lineage.fyi — the notice-and-takedown process in the WayID Terms applies.
5. What is public
Builder profiles, tool pages, forum posts, and aggregate vote tallies are world-readable, indexed
by search engines, and also published in machine-readable form (catalogue.json, the sitemap, social-preview images, the agent guide) for AI
agents to read. Anything you post here should be something you are happy to see
republished.
6. Processors
way.space uses Supabase (database and authentication, EU-hosted), Cloudflare (hosting and edge network), Google and GitHub (OAuth sign-in), and the GitHub API (public repository data). The transfer safeguards described in the WayID Privacy Policy apply.
7. Cookies
Only essential cookies set by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in. No analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising cookies.
8. Your rights, retention, and deletion
Everything in the WayID Privacy Policy about your GDPR rights, retention, and deletion applies here. way.space is for adults (18+). To exercise any right or delete your account and data across both services, email hello@lineage.fyi.
