AstrBot is an open-source agent chatbot platform that connects LLM-backed agents to instant messaging apps. It targets personal AI companions, customer service bots, automation assistants, and knowledge bases that live inside chat platforms such as QQ, WeChat Work, Feishu, DingTalk, Telegram, Slack, and Discord.
Conversations support multimodal input, agents with MCP tools and skills, a knowledge base, persona settings, and automatic context compression. An agent sandbox runs code and shell calls in isolation with session-level resource reuse. AstrBot can also hand conversations to external agent platforms such as Dify, Alibaba Cloud Bailian, and Coze. A plugin marketplace offers more than 1,000 plugins, and a WebUI and a web ChatUI (with the sandbox and web search built in) manage and test the bot.
AstrBot runs on a server with Docker or as a Python tool, on a desktop through AstrBot App or AstrBot Launcher, through NAS and server panels such as BT Panel, 1Panel, and CasaOS, or through a hosted one-click cloud deployment.
