bb is an agentic IDE (integrated development environment) that can control, customize, and automate itself, as a base for building your own software factory. Work runs in threads that you follow live, steer at any point, or hand off to another agent.
The desktop app, web app, CLI, and HTTP API are all first-class ways to drive bb. It runs on top of the coding-agent provider CLI you already have authenticated, keeps a task board and dispatch panel alongside threads, supports Git worktrees with setup scripts, and can be used across multiple devices. A plugin system includes bundled plugins and a community marketplace.
The desktop app targets macOS on Apple Silicon, with Linux and Windows builds in alpha, and the same app also runs as a local web app. The core architecture is stable, while workflows and surfaces are still evolving. Production runs send anonymous usage telemetry (app starts, thread and message counts, public plugin installs), which can be turned off.
