BMad Method is a set of skills and workflows for AI-driven software development that covers what to build, how it holds together, and how it changes, not only the code. Its aim is to stop coding assistants from turning unstated assumptions into code: its agents and workflows make important decisions explicit and keep them as context for the work that follows.
The process sizes itself to the work. A clear small change goes straight to build and verify, a big clear idea starts at planning, and a vague notion starts at clarification, with a learn-and-adjust step looping back to planning. You can run it end to end or carry its briefs, specifications, and architecture into an existing delivery workflow, on a new project or an inherited codebase.
BMad installs into AI coding tools that support skills, including as a Claude Code plugin or a Codex plugin. A central bmad skill handles setup, status, and guidance on what to run next, and a build skill takes a description of the change you want.

- Existing codebases: establishes verified context on an inherited codebase before changing it
- Durable context: carries product and technical decisions forward across chats instead of re-explaining them
- Specialized perspectives: product, architecture, UX, development, and testing roles join when the work needs them
- Guided collaboration: structured workflows and multi-agent discussions that keep judgment with you
- One delivery path: runs from early thinking through reviewed implementation, correction, and learning
- Coding-tool plugins: installs as skills, a Claude Code plugin, or a Codex plugin
- Add-on modules: Builder, Creative Intelligence Suite, Test Architect, Loop, and Game Dev Studio
