01 / About

What Confer is.

A privacy-focused AI chatbot/assistant that prioritizes end-to-end encryption so that conversations remain private—even from the service itself. Available via the web at confer.to and as the “Confer Private AI” iPhone app. Sign-in uses an email address or Google account (needed for encryption/key management), often with passkeys.

Your messages, chat history, folders, memories, and attachments are encrypted with keys you control. The company cannot read them, use them for AI training, or hand over plaintext data it does not have. Privacy is built into the architecture rather than relying mainly on a privacy policy.

Features
  • Supports long conversations, folders (with custom instructions), persistent memory, photo/file attachments, and private connections to services like Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar. You can import ChatGPT conversations.
  • Philosophy: Aimed at letting users “think out loud” privately about sensitive topics (health, finances, relationships, work, etc.) without data brokers or model training learning about them.
