Ellipsis is a managed platform for running coding agents in the cloud. You define each agent as a YAML file in your repository, and Ellipsis runs it to build features, fix bugs, review code, run background tasks, and investigate production issues, while it handles the infrastructure, permissions, logging, and budgets.
An agent file sets the repositories, setup hooks, compute, triggers, model, prompt, and budget. Triggers include schedules and repository events such as pushes. Changing one line switches the harness or the model, for example from Claude Code to Codex or from Anthropic to OpenAI, without rebuilding the agent.
You can download the raw output of every agent process, with records that include tool calls and cost, and choose how long session data is kept, from zero hours to one year. An HTTP API creates agents, starts sessions, and sends messages to them, and the platform installs as a GitHub app.
Features
- Agents as config: each agent is a YAML file in your repository, versioned with the code
- Triggers: cron schedules and repository events such as pushes
- Harness and model choice: switch between Claude Code and Codex, or Anthropic and OpenAI models, by editing one line
- Per-agent environment: repositories, setup hooks, CPU, and memory set per agent
- Spend caps: budgets per session and per day
- Raw logs: download every agent process's output, including tool calls and cost
- Retention control: keep session data from zero hours to one year
- HTTP API: create agents, start sessions, and message them programmatically
