N8n As Code

N8n As Code turns a repository into a development workspace for n8n workflows, so that you and an AI coding agent can build, edit, deploy, and debug workflows from an editor with live n8n context. It is an independent community project, not affiliated with n8n.

The agent side is a skills layer that gives agents grounded n8n knowledge: schemas for 537 nodes, node documentation, examples, more than 7,700 templates, validation rules, and safe workflow operations. An agent can search for nodes that fit a task, look up a node, and validate a workflow before pushing it. The skill installs in Claude Code as a plugin, in OpenClaw as a plugin, or in any agent that reads portable skills.

Workflows live in version control. Sync with an n8n instance is explicit, in a GitOps style: you pull and push workflows, review diffs, resolve conflicts, and promote workflow source from one environment to another (for example dev to prod), with credentials and sub-workflow references remapped. A transformer converts n8n JSON into readable TypeScript workflow files, with decorators for nodes and links, and back.

Against a selected n8n environment you can verify workflows, inspect credentials, run tests, activate workflows, and inspect executions. A VS Code and Cursor extension adds a sidebar, a canvas, and an integrated Agent Workbench, and a separate manager handles local n8n instances, their Docker lifecycle, and tunnels. Secrets and machine-local state stay out of the repository.
