OpenMinis

OpenMinis — The AI Agent app across platforms. Fully free and open source.

01 / Summary

About OpenMinis.

OpenMinis is a mobile AI agent app for iPhone, iPad, Mac, Vision Pro, and Android. It connects chat models such as Claude, GPT, and Gemini to a sandboxed Alpine Linux environment running on the device, so the agent can install packages, run scripts, and work with real files, alongside browser automation, device integrations, skills, and persistent memory.

Device features are exposed to the agent as tools: Health, Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, HomeKit, Bluetooth, Clipboard, Media, Alarms, and more. Work is organized into separate workspaces, and heavy or platform-specific tasks are handed off to native code rather than the sandbox. On iOS the sandbox uses iSH, and on Android it uses PRoot.

Skills are folders with a SKILL.md file that the agent loads on demand. Skills written for Claude, Codex, OpenClaw, or Hermes Agent generally run unchanged, and skills adapted to OpenMinis can call the shell, device integrations, and native offloads directly. Example uses include logging a photographed meal's nutrition to Apple Health, turning Telegram group messages into Apple Reminders tasks, editing an Obsidian vault as a workspace, and creating calendar events from the iOS Share Sheet.

  • Bring your own model: Claude, GPT, Gemini, and other providers through your own API keys or account sign-in
  • On-device Linux shell: a sandboxed Alpine Linux environment where the agent installs packages, runs scripts, and edits files
  • Device integration: Health, Calendar, Reminders, Contacts, HomeKit, Bluetooth, Clipboard, Media, and Alarms exposed as agent tools
  • Browser automation: the agent browses and interacts with web pages for you
  • Skills: loads SKILL.md skill folders on demand, including skills built for Claude, Codex, OpenClaw, and Hermes Agent
  • Persistent memory: memory carried across sessions
  • Workspaces: separate contexts for different work, addressable by URL scheme
  • Native offloads: heavy or platform-specific work runs in native code instead of the sandbox
  • Cross-platform apps: native apps for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, visionOS, and Android
