PiDeck is an Electron desktop workbench that manages many coding-agent sessions across local project folders in one window. It is not a fork of Pi: each agent tab starts its own Pi process in RPC mode, and Pi keeps doing the agent work, tool calls, and session file reads and writes. PiDeck adds the project list, session browsing, Git panel, terminal, and settings around it, and talks to Pi over stdio JSON-RPC.
Besides Pi, PiDeck runs DeepSeek Harness (DSH) as a second session backend, embedded in the app without a listening port. Pi and DSH sessions sit side by side in the same project, and an image-generation mode adds a third backend that calls an OpenAI-compatible image endpoint. Recent releases add an ACP protocol backend for more coding tools, a host plugin system, an MCP server directory, and a plan mode.
Local Codex and Claude sessions can be imported and converted into PiDeck history copies, so they can be browsed and resumed next to Pi sessions without changing the original files. The app runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, sends an anonymous usage heartbeat that can be turned off in settings, and needs the Pi CLI installed and configured separately.
Features
- Multi-project workspace: add, search, reorder, and switch project folders, with several Pi agents running at once and each project isolated
- Session backends: Pi, DeepSeek Harness, and an image-generation mode side by side in one project, plus an ACP backend for other coding tools
- Session history: browse, resume, fork, rename, and export sessions to HTML, with a timeline of thinking, tool calls, and answers
- Session import: converts local Codex and Claude sessions into PiDeck history copies that can be resumed
- Context-aware input: @ file references, slash commands, and shell execution from the same composer, with a plan mode that confirms steps before running them
- Git panel: live branch display, local and remote branch switching, branch creation, and Git status in the file tree
- Terminal dock: a terminal tab bound to each agent, with PowerShell, cmd, and sh fallback and multiple tabs
- Visual configuration: edits Pi's model, auth, and settings files through provider cards and a model grid, with a connection test per provider
- Usage tracking: provider balance and quota lookups plus local usage statistics by day, model, and project
- Skills and extensions: manages global and project-level skills and extensions, with prompts.chat and skills.sh stores and a Chinese prompt library
- Vision bridge: converts images to text with a separate vision model before passing them to models that cannot read images
- Desktop integration: system tray, desktop pet that shows agent status, Feishu bot binding, and a LAN web version of the workbench
