Tavus builds real-time conversational video agents: an AI persona with a photorealistic face that sees, hears, and talks to a person over a video call. The platform is called the Conversational Video Interface (CVI). It pairs a PAL, the configuration of an agent's behavior, knowledge, and pipeline (previously called a persona), with a Face, the visual replica and voice (previously a replica). The legacy persona and replica endpoints remain available.
Three in-house models power a conversation: Phoenix-4 renders the replica from a training video or image, Raven-1 handles real-time visual and audio perception, and Sparrow-1 manages turn-taking and interruptions. Conversations run in Daily WebRTC rooms and can be deployed as a widget, an embed, a hosted landing page, or in iOS, Android, and React Native apps. A no-code PAL Maker and a developer API are offered side by side, and a separate asynchronous video API generates scripted or audio-driven videos without a live session.
