CareerOps turns an AI coding CLI into a job-search pipeline that runs on your own machine. You paste a job URL or description; it classifies the role archetype, evaluates the posting against your CV in blocks A through H, and reaches a 1 to 5 global score by holistic judgement across five dimensions rather than an arithmetic formula. Per-requirement importance and a posting-legitimacy check that flags scams and ghost jobs are separate signals that do not move the score.
From the same evaluation it generates an ATS-oriented PDF CV tailored to the listing, drafts a research-backed cover letter, drafts answers to the open-ended questions on Greenhouse, Ashby, and Lever forms, drafts recruiter and cold application emails, and writes a tracker entry. Every output is a draft: the system never submits, sends, or clicks, and it recommends against applying to anything scoring below 4.0 out of 5.
The scanner covers more than 100 pre-configured companies and 45 or more search queries across Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever, and Wellfound, with 55 or more provider modules for ATS APIs, board-wide feeds, XML and RSS feeds, markdown feeds, and local parsers. The default pass trusts each feed, so a verification flag adds a sequential Playwright liveness check that drops expired postings before they reach the pipeline.
CareerOps is CLI-agnostic through the Agent Skill Standard and runs in Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Qwen, Grok, and Gemini or Antigravity CLIs, among others. It can run on free or local models through OpenRouter free models, Ollama, or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Around the agent sit Node.js scripts, Playwright for scraping and PDF rendering, and a Go terminal dashboard built with Bubble Tea for browsing, filtering, and sorting the pipeline; an experimental web UI is opt-in.
Later stages of a search are covered too: an interview story bank accumulating STAR and reflection stories, time-blocked prep with practice sessions and debriefs, a company red-flag detector, negotiation scripts, a contract clause walkthrough with a lawyer question list, a salary-gap analyzer, follow-up cadence reminders, and classification of employer replies into tracker updates. Data stays as Markdown tables, YAML config, and TSV batch files on your machine.
