Framelink MCP for Figma is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that gives AI coding tools such as Cursor access to Figma design data. You paste a link to a Figma file, frame, or group into your editor's agent chat and ask it to implement the design. The agent fetches the relevant metadata through the server and uses it to write the code, instead of working from a pasted screenshot.
Before returning data, the server simplifies and translates the Figma API response so the model receives only the layout and styling information it needs. The output is descriptive rather than prescriptive, for example an element's border and padding values, which leaves the agent to decide how to build it with your own components and framework. The server requires a Figma personal access token and runs over stdio or a port-based HTTP transport.
Features
- Figma links as context: pass a file, frame, or group URL to the agent and it pulls the design data
- Reduced payload: the Figma API response is trimmed to relevant layout and styling data to keep model context small
- Descriptive JSON: style names, component props, and nested components are preserved for the agent to interpret
- Framework-agnostic output: the agent produces HTML and CSS, iOS, Android, or your own component library from the same data
- Client support: Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code, Codex, OpenCode, and other MCP-capable editors
- Configuration: a Figma API key, with stdio or port-based transport
