FuXi is a terminal coding agent. From a TUI it reads code, edits files, runs commands, and drives tools, and it routes requests across LLM providers by cost, with automatic failover when a provider fails. It is written in Go and ships as one static binary with no runtime dependencies, and it updates itself.
A FuXi account is required. Signing in gives access to FuXi-managed models, or you connect your own provider with an API key. It acts as an MCP client for external tools, and you switch models, settings, and privacy controls from slash commands inside a session.
Sensitive tool calls ask for approval by default. A plan mode and a bypass mode exist, and bypass mode still blocks extreme commands and refuses to run as root. Sessions, checkpoints, memory, audit logs, and credentials stay on your machine, and conversation content goes to FuXi only when you opt in. The product source is proprietary, and the public repository holds the documentation, installers, and issue tracker.
