01 / About

What Manus is.

Manus is a hosted general-purpose agent that takes a task description and works on it autonomously until it delivers a result. Each task runs in a cloud sandbox, a virtual computer with internet access, a persistent file system, and the ability to install software and build its own tools, so the agent can browse, run code, and produce files without step-by-step supervision.

On top of that runtime, Manus packages task types as products: presentations generated from a description with research, visuals, and speaker notes; websites and web apps refined through natural-language edits, with hosting, payments, analytics, and custom domains; data analysis and visualization; and image, video, voice, and music generation. Wide Research fans a large task out across parallel sub-agents, and scheduled tasks run work at set times.

Manus reaches beyond its web app through a cloud browser that acts on sites as a user would, a browser extension that turns your own browser into an agent, an email interface (Mail Manus), a Slack integration, MCP connectors to team tools, and an API that exposes the full agent programmatically. Projects hold persistent workspaces with shared instructions and files. Manus is now part of Meta.
